The Guangzhou Award Finalists were Announced

The 7th UCLG ASPAC Congress took place in the city of Surabaya, Indonesia. Within the framework of the Congress the finalists for the 4th Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation were announced. The Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation is co-sponsored by UCLG, Metropolis and the City of Guangzhou. It aims to recognize innovation in improving social, economic and environmental sustainability in cities and regions and, in so doing, to advance the prosperity and quality of life of their citizens.

The 2018 Guangzhou Award received 313 registrations from an unprecedented number of 213 cities/local governments of 70 countries/regions. Kazan has become one of the finalist as well as New-York, Sidney, Milan and others. The finalists will present their projects on 5-9 December, 2018, at the International Conference of Urban Innovations in Guangzhou.

Five winners will be announced there and each will receive $20 000. Previously Vienna, Vancouver, Boston, Copenhagen and Seoul were awarded.
