UCLG-EURASIA AND THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN STRENGTHEN COOPERATION

On May 4, Secretary General of the Eurasia section of UCLG Rasikh Sagitov visited the city of Nur-Sultan (Republic of Kazakhstan), where he met with Mayor of the city Altai Kulginov and Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Republic of Kazakhstan Olga Uldanova.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues in terms of cooperation and further interaction of the municipality at the international level within the framework of the Eurasia section of UCLG. Rasikh Sagitov and Altai Kulginov also discussed participation in the forthcoming VII Congress of UCLG in Daejeon and full support for the initiatives of the leadership of the Eurasia section at this congress.

This event takes place once every three years and brings together more than 3,000 representatives of local and regional authorities, international organizations and other stakeholders from around the world. This congress will host meetings of the General Assembly and the World Council of UCLG. The composition of the World Council and the Presidency for 2022-2025 will be elected, and the venue for the next World Congress will be determined. It should be noted that a meeting of the Council of the Eurasia section of UCLG will also take place within the framework of the congress in Daejeon.
