The Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation

The call for applications for the 5th edition of the Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Award commenced in early 2020.

The Guangzhou Award supports efforts aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and implementing the New Urban Agenda by promoting inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and human settlements.

You are welcome to submit an application for the Award if your city is one that places special emphasis on urban planning and urban development design and financing as well as promoting accessible housing, infrastructure and services.

The Guangzhou Award is co-sponsored by United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), Metropolis and the city of Guangzhou. The Award aims to support innovation activities in ensuring the social, economic and environmental sustainability of cities and regions thereby contributing to driving up the prosperity and quality of life of citizens.

Each of the five winning cities will receive an amount of 20,000 USD along with a memorable gift and a certificate. The Guangzhou Award Organizing Committee can also celebrate one of the initiatives that has achieved recognition by the general public.
