20 000 USD Award for Urban Innovation

The 6^th Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Award (Guangzhou Award) is open for applications. Cities that submit their applications by July 31, 2023, will be able to receive not only feedback, but also recommendations on how to improve their applications. The deadline for submitting applications is August 31, 2023. Results of the Award will be announced in December 2023.

The Guangzhou Award is open to all local and regional governments around the world with ongoing or recently completed initiatives, including those that are implemented in collaboration with private and civil society sectors.

The jury will select five winners. Each will be granted 20 000 USD as a prize, a commemorative gift and a certificate. Moreover, the technical committee will determine 15 cities to be short-listed and 30 cities to deserve special attention.

Note: The Guangzhou Award is organized by the city of Guangzhou in cooperation with the World Organization “United Cities and Local Governments”. The purpose of the Award is to recognize innovation in improving social, economic and environmental sustainability and good urban governance in cities and regions, and improve the well-being and quality of life of their citizens.
