The President of the UCLG has resigned

Today, on November 16, at the meeting of the UCLG Committee on Statutory Affairs, President of UCLG Mohamed Boudra has announced his resignation.

The resignation is connected with termination of his powers as Mayor of Al Hoceima (Morocco). According to the Constitution of UCLG, the organization can be headed by a mayor or a chairman of the association of local governments.

In the next few days, during the meetings of the World Council that are currently taking place in Barcelona, it will be known who will lead the organization after him.

The issues discussed during the meeting, included changes in the composition of the governing bodies, UCLG electoral calendar and framework for the elections in 2022, preliminary results of the UCLG assessment, calls for upcoming UCLG summits and meetings, as well as membership issues.
