Eurasia Regional Section of the World organization "United Cities and Local Governments"
On September 30, 2019, a meeting of the UCLG-Eurasia leadership took place. The official meeting gathered President of UCLG-Eurasia, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Vice-President of UCLG-Eurasia, Head of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolaev and Secretary General of UCLG-Eurasia Rasikh Sagitov.
The main topic of the working discussion was the preparation for the UCLG World Congress that will take place in Durban (South Africa) on November 11-15, 2019. Furthermore, the venue of X International Conference of Eurasia World Heritage Cities was chosen. The event will be held in the city of Yakutsk in June 2020 and will be dedicated to the celebration of the Yakut folk festival Yhyakh.
It is worth adding that thanks to the work of Aisen Nikolaev, the Sakha Republic became a member of UCLG-Eurasia.
