Five municipal districts of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) have joined the ranks of the members of the UCLG Eurasia Section, namely:
  • Gorny Ulus Municipal District of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia);
  • Municipal district "Oleneksky Evenki National District" of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia);
  • Municipal district "Suntarsky ulus (district)" of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia);
  • Municipal district "Ust-Aldansky ulus (district)" of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia);
  • Municipal district " Khangalassky ulus (district)" of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
This decision was made during the General Assembly of the UCLG Eurasia Regional Section. The General Assembly was held within the framework of the VIII Eurasia Congress of Local and Regional Governments on June 24 in the city of Yakutsk. The congress was organized by the UCLG Eurasia Section together with the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the District Administration of Yakutsk. Representatives of local and regional governments took part in the meeting offline and online.

Gorny ulus is located in the Central part of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The administrative center is the village of Berdigestyakh, which is located from the capital of the Republic of Yakutsk at a distance of: by land -184 km, by water -150 km. Currently, the municipal district consists of 9 settlement-type municipalities. Today, the population of the ulus is 12,000 people. In order to preserve, reproduce and restore the number of wild ungulates, fur-bearing animals and their habitats in pristine nature, the national nature park "Blue" and resource reserves have been created in the ulus. Special protected areas occupy 35.7% of the total territory of the ulus. The head of the Mountain Ulus since 2013 is Nikita Andreev.

Oleneksky district is located in the north-west of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) beyond the Arctic circle. The territory is 318.1 thousand square kilometers. The district is the largest subject by territory in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and accounts for 10.1% of the entire territory of the Republic. The distance from the capital of the republic of Yakutsk to the district center of the village of Olenek by land is 2026 km, by air-1270 km. As of 01.01.2013, it is 4,050 people. The head of the Olenek National District is Lena Ivanova.

The center of the Suntar ulus is the village of Suntar, founded in 1764. It is located 985 kilometers by land, 730 km by air and 1151 km by water from the capital of the Sakha Republic, Yakutsk. The territory of Suntarsky ulus is 57,800 square kilometers: there are 39 settlements, 26 naslegs in it. The population of the ulus is 25.6 thousand people. The Suntar land is known for centuries-old cultural traditions, success in agriculture and animal husbandry, handicraft production and handicrafts. Many outstanding people who made a significant contribution to the socio-economic and spiritual development of Yakutia lived and worked here. Today, there are more than 40 different museums in the ulus. The head of the Suntarsky ulus since 2015 is Anatoly Grigoriev.

The center of Ust-Aldan ulus is the village of Borogontsy, founded in 1930. The area of the territory is 18.3 thousand sq. m. The population is 20,801 people as of January 1, 2018. The distance from Yakutsk to the ulus: By land - 127 km, by air - 110 km. and by water - 631 km. The head of the Ust-Aldan ulus is Fedotov Alexey.

The administrative center of the Khangalassky ulus is the city of Pokrovsk. The area of the district is 24.7 thousand km2. The national natural park "Lena Pillars"is located on the territory of the ulus. "Lena Pillars" is a UNESCO site since 2012, which is located on the right bank of the Lena and on the left in the lower reaches of the Blue River. The park has unique geological formations-pillars — steep, completely vertical rocks composed of Cambrian limestones. The permanent population is 32,646 people, of which the urban population is 15,415 people, the rural population is 17,231 people (as of 2018) The head of the Khangalassky ulus is Oleg Irineev.
