Visit to Safranbolu

The delegations from the Spassky municipal district and the Yelabuga municipal district visited the city of Safranbolu, Turkey. Every year in April, children from Tatarstan take part in the festival dedicated to the Turkish national holiday – the Children's Day. Guests from Macedonia and Bulgaria also took part in the celebration.

A colorful festival was held on the city central square. The Art school pupils from the Spassky municipal district performed the Tatar folk dance. All of the guests took memorable photos with the dancers.

In addition to the festival, an extensive cultural program was provided within the framework of the visit. The delegation members visited several schools and met with teachers and students. Also, a tour to the historical places of the city was organised. The trip was arranged with the organizational support of the UCLG Eurasia.

At the official reception Kamil Nugaev, Head of the Spassky municipal district, was presented with a Letter of Gratitude for participating in the festival and for maintaining friendly relations between two cities.

Safranbolu is the city of UNESCO World Heritage List from 1994. In 2017, an agreement was signed on the recognition of Safranbolu and Bolgar as the twin cities.
