Mayors of Perm and Krasnodar received awards for the development of the international municipal movement
The high-level events dedicated to the closure of the Year of Russian-German regional and municipal partnerships took place in Berlin recently. At the closing ceremony of the Year, Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and Heiko Maas, the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany awarded
Evgenii Pervyshov, Mayor of Krasnodar, and
Dmitrii Samoilov, Mayor of Perm, for their significant contribution to the development of regional and local cooperation between Russia and Germany.
One of the best joint projects between Russia and Germany implemented at the local level is the project of Krasnodar and Karlsruhe "Internships and training courses for doctors and nurses". Together with the Mayor of Krasnodar Frank Mentrup, Oberburgermaster of Karlsruhe received the Certificate of Appreciation.
Another winner is the joint project of Perm and Duisburg "Year of the 10th anniversary of the twin-cities relations between Perm and Duisburg as a demonstration of the tangible results of public diplomacy." A delegation from Duisburg, led by Dorte Dimert, Head of City Administration, shared the award with Perm.
