Eurasian Cities Are Invited To Participate In The “Cultural Heritage” Competition

The theme of the competition “Cultural Heritage” in 2020 is “Architectural and Archaeological Monuments of Russia: Preservation, Popularization and Revival”.

The aim of the national award is to preserve and revive the objects of the country's architectural heritage. The mission is to help strengthen and consolidate the Russian society in the revival of monuments of historical heritage. The prize is awarded annually on a competitive basis with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Workers of science, culture, education are invited to participate in the competition, as well as local historians, representatives of public organizations; private and legal entities –  owners of heritage sites; restorers, architects, archaeologists, designers; patrons, benefactors, volunteers; journalists, writers, painters, artists, popularizing the revival of heritage monuments.

Applications must describe the activities of the applicant over the past several years at the objects of civil and religious architecture (historical residential buildings, manor and palace complexes, religious architecture, industrial architecture, summer cottages, landscape and garden-park architecture located on the territory of the former Russian empires and related to the cultural heritage of the Russian state).

Within the framework of the competition, a special nomination “New Generation” is awarded. The age threshold for the laureates of the nomination is 33 years. Young art historians, archaeologists, architects-restorers, museum workers, town planners, local historians, etc. can become its laureates. Applications are accepted in electronic form, filled in according to the form posted on the award website.

For 15 years, more than 1,200 applications took part in the competition. More than 350 people became laureates and nominees –  representatives of leading educational, museum, architectural and public organizations, state bodies for culture and protection of monuments, media.
