Izmir and Kazan Discussed Opportunities for Cooperation

On December 16, the Izmir delegation visited Kazan. The official meeting took place with the participation of Vice-Mayor of Kazan Evgeniia Lodvigova, Mayor of Izmir Tunç Soyer, deputies of the Izmir City Council and representatives of the sectors of information technology, tourism and entrepreneurship of the Izmir Municipality.

Opening the meeting, Evgeniia Lodvigova congratulated Mayor of Izmir on his election as a member of the UCLG World Council. The decision was made during VI UCLG World Congress in Durban, South Africa.

The parties discussed cooperation in the fields of tourism and business, as well as the possibility of holding joint congresses and exhibitions. Mayor of Izmir is convinced that two cities have great potential in the tourism sector. He suggested developing the exchange of tourist flows between cities and started with presentations of tourism potential. The guests also discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects and sharing experiences in the field of high technology, information initiatives and entrepreneurship. This work can be built on the basis of special economic zones or IT parks.
