KazanSummit Has Received Federal Status

The International Economic Summit "Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit" has received federal status.

In the terms of new economic realities this event has strategic importance and will strengthen the connections of Russian business with the countries of the Islamic world. Due to the new status, the Summit will slightly change its format – the event is going to be organized along with the Petersburg and Eastern Economic Forums. Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin at the meeting dedicated to this Summit has highlighted Tatarstan's extensive experience in conducting international events at the highest level and expressed confidence in proper preparation for the future Summit. President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in turn expressed his gratitude to President Vladimir Putin for the decision to give KazanSummit federal status.

The capital of Tatarstan is assumed to host its 14th Summit from from 18 to 20 May next year.

"Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit" is the main platform of economic interaction between Russia and the Islamic world. For the first time, the International Economic Summit of Russia and the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held in 2009, creating a leading international platform for discussing issues of cooperation and implementing joint projects. The aim of the summit is to strengthen trade-economic, scientific and technological, social and cultural connections between Russia and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

KazanSummit has been held in Kazan since 2009. In May 2022, it was attended by 6.5 thousand representatives from 64 countries.
