Krasnodar and Chinese Jinhua signed a Memorandum of Intent on the development of relations between the cities. The document was signed on November 6 by the Deputy Mayor of Krasnodar Kirill Mavridi and Vice-Mayor of Jinhua Shao Guoqiang. The signing ceremony was held in an online format as part of the 3rd International Municipal Forum of the BRICS Countries.

"The leaders of Russia and China are building a long-term strategic partnership, and we are also trying to contribute to it at the municipal level. I am convinced that cooperation between Krasnodar and Jinhua has great prospects. And the friendship and mutual understanding between our cities, the foundations of which we are laying today, will only grow stronger," Kirill Mavridi said.

Earlier, representatives of Krasnodar and Jinhua identified possible areas of cooperation in the field of economy, transport, medicine and education. The possibility of holding a joint photo exhibition and a Chinese film festival in the capital of Kuban was discussed as well.

"There is a high industrial complementarity between Jinhua and Krasnodar. Several online conferences were held, the first agreements on cooperation have been reached. The signing of the memorandum will become a new "starting point" of bilateral relations. We sincerely hope that regular ties between our cities will be maintained, cooperation will continuously develop in all areas of interest," Shao Guoqiang said.

Kirill Mavridi also welcomed all participants of the Forum, told about the successful experience of twinning relations between Krasnodar and Harbin. He stressed that relations between the cities are successfully developing in different directions — in the economy, education, healthcare, culture and sports.
