New transport strategy

On August 2, at a weekly meeting in the Krasnodar City Hall, a video presentation was shown, which tells how the city's transport system will develop until 2034. It is noted that the fast-growing motorization has led Krasnodar to a transport collapse. For the purpose of sustainable development of the transport system of the regional center, the tasks are outlined until 2034. Among them are:

• development of public transport, including the city train;
• development of an automated road traffic management system and introduction of an intelligent transport system;
• expansion of paid city parking space;
• the project "Seven Streets" has been developed to preserve the historical center;
• it is planned to expand the street and road network.

It is expected that the transition to a new urban mobility will ensure the stable operation of the transport system, which will contribute to the development of the whole of Krasnodar. It is necessary to move from the concept of a "city for cars" to a "city for people" with a large number of crossings at different levels, pedestrian streets and zones, squares, boulevards, new sidewalks.
