Novosibirsk and Minsk Strengthen Cooperation in Saint-Petersburg

VI Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus was held in the city of Saint-Petersburg under the theme “Interregional relations as the basis for the formation of a single cultural and humanitarian space of the peoples of Belarus and Russia” on July 16-18, 2019.

Within the frameworks of the Forum, where Anatoly Lokot, Mayor of Novosibirsk, took part, an action plan on development of the cooperation between Novosibirsk (Russia) and Minsk (Belarus) was signed for 2019-2020.

“Novosibirsk and Minsk have historically had strong sister-cities relations. Our cooperation develops in the various fields: trade, culture, science, urban economy, agricultural sector, engineering. Our peoples have deep cultural, historical and economic ties. And it is necessary to develop our relations. Today we have made another step in this direction – we have signed an action plan between our cities. And this is not a framework agreement, this is the list of concrete actions that will be implemented in the nearest future,” Mayor Lokot said.
