The International Organization of Turkic Culture (Türksoy) has declared the city of Osh (Kyrgyzstan) the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2019. According to Taalaibek Sarybashov, Mayor of Osh, the events dedicated to the Program “Osh – the cultural center of the Turkic world in 2019” will start this April.
Among the planned events are the scientific and practical conference “The City of Osh on the Silk Road: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”, international festivals, youth forums, meetings of writers of the Turkic world, sculptors' symposia and many other various events with the participation of delegations and representatives of Turkic-speaking countries.
Particular attention will be paid to the historical and cultural heritage sites of the city, including the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the entry of Sulayman-Too into the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List.
Türksoy is an international organization created to preserve the culture of the Turkic peoples including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan.
