OSH IS THE GREAT SILK ROAD PROVIDER

At the First Great Regional Tourism Forum, held with the support of the Osh City Hall, international tourism experts recognized Osh as the leading tourist provider of the Great Silk Road, providing modern tourist services to all foreign tourists passing through the global route of the ancient transcontinental highway. The city of Osh intends to revive its former important position on the transcontinental way of the Great Silk Road by developing Silk Road tourism products and creating a brand associated with the Great Silk Road. The city's tourism product and brand will attract hundreds of thousands of tourists to Osh. Thanks to this, the city will revive its former glory and give a powerful impetus to developing small and medium-sized businesses in the region and the whole country.

Osh Tourism Development Program has been developed. The program provides for the development of tourism in the city through active participation in the global tourism market of the Great Silk Road, through which several million tourists a year before the pandemic. The tourism market of the Great Silk Road is estimated at more than a hundred billion U.S. dollars. To successfully compete in this tourism market, the city of Osh has now developed its tourism brand, marketing tools, such as a unified tourism portal, and image ads for the town.

Today, at the initiative of the mayor's office, Osh's desperate tour operators are uniting into a single Silk Road Tourist Association, with tour operators from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan as members. We intend to ensure their participation in international tourism fairs, where all the tourist opportunities and potential in Osh tourism will be presented.

The Guild of Silk Road Handicraftsmen, based in Osh, is actively working to create the Guild of Silk Road Handicraftsmen. This is an active contribution of the Osh City Hall to the preservation and development of craftsmanship in Osh and Central Asia. It is planned to open an ethnic town of artisans.

In 2022, Osh City Hall plans to hold international tourism events as part of the Great Silk Road. These events aim to strengthen the position of the city of Osh in the global tourism market and attract foreign tourists flow to the town with a stay of more than two nights.

Thanks to all these efforts, City Hall plans to significantly increase tourism revenue and turn Osh into one of the main tourist destinations on the route of the Great Silk Road.
