Perm and Ufa Signed an Agreement

The delegation of the Ufa Administration paid an official visit to Perm. Guests of the city visited a number of infrastructure facilities of Perm to see how the city is preparing for the 300th anniversary.

On 14 and 15 July, the delegation of Ufa paid an official visit to Perm. Mayor of Perm Alexey Demkin and Mayor of Ufa Ratmir Mavliev signed an agreement on cooperation between the cities in various areas.

Then, as part of a rich business program, the guests saw the progress in the implementation of various infrastructure projects on the eve of the 300th anniversary of Perm. The interest of representatives of Ufa is understandable: a great jubilee, like Perm’s anniversary, is ahead, in 2024 the city will celebrate 450^th anniversary, and the preparation has already begun.

After the agreement between the cities was signed, a flower laying ceremony to the memorial of the Ural Volunteer Tank Corps took place. The participants paid tribute to the feat of the participants of the Great Patriotic War and honored their memory.

Then the delegation from Ufa visited a number of urban amenities, as well as landmark construction sites for the anniversary of Perm.

“For any city, a significant date is an impulse to change, which will not end when the anniversary is celebrated. This applies to the improvement, repair of social institutions, renovation of transport and public spaces. The anniversary allows to attract significant federal and regional funding, the country’s attention, to launch a number of processes. Already now one can see a significant renewal of the city, public spaces, and social infrastructure. The celebration of the anniversary is not the end of the 300-year journey, but rather the continuation of our glorious history. In this regard, the establishment of cooperation with Ufa will provide more opportunities for the development of both cities”, Mayor of Perm Alexey Demkin said.

Mayor of Ufa Ratmir Mavliev thanked the Perm Administration for organizing the visit.

The Head of the Ufa administration also noted how the work of the Perm-300 Foundation is organized. According to him, it is right when anyone can take part in the formation of a new image of their beloved city.

Head of the Administration of Kalininsky District of Ufa Mikhail Zamuragin said that the delegation members from the capital of Bashkortostan were impressed with the great work being carried out in Perm to improve the territory.

“The first thing that catches the eye at the entrance to the city is a large number of facades being repaired, while the construction site is neatly fenced. I was struck by the enormity of the esplanade reconstruction. What is being done in Perm, we plan to adopt, for example, the launch of the plant watering system during the reconstruction, methods of pedestrian zones development”, Mikhail Zamuragin summed up.
