Buses in Yakutsk will have free Wi-Fi

The Yakutsk city administration in association with the "Mobile TeleSystems" is going to provide free Wi-Fi Internet access in public transport of Yakutsk.

In February of this year, as part of “Wi-Fi Bus" campaign any passenger of shuttle buses number 17 and 103 will be able to surf the net while travelling by bus. To take part in the campaign, you have to have a gadget that supports this technology.

The system will run in test mode for the first two months. If it is successful, the number of routes with Internet access will be increased.

MTS announced the technical details of the campaign just before its launch. Similar projects concerning access to the Internet via Wi-Fi have been launched in other major cities of Central Russia, Siberia and the Far East.
