A video conference on interaction with Baoji City of the People's Republic of China was held on January 16, 2022.

Participants in the meeting were the head of the Penza Administration, Alexander Basenko, Deputy Mayor Roman Polikarpov, Mayor of the People's Government of Baoji Yang Guangting, Head of Industry and Information Department Ju Xuchang, and other senior officials.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in economy, culture, tourism, and education.

Alexander Basenko stressed that the city has more than 15 thousand enterprises whose products are imported to many regions of the Russian Federation and foreign countries. Penza maintains friendly relations with such foreign cities as Lanzhou (China, Gansu Province), Pusan (South Korea), Ramat-Gan (Israel), Julien (France), Alba (Italy), Mogilev (Belarus).

In turn, the Baoji People's Government mayor informed the audience about the industrial clusters that prevail in Baoji. It actively develops mechanical engineering, food, textile, paper, chemical, and food processing industries.

"Cooperation between the cities of Baoji and Penza is the embodiment of friendly relations between China and Russia," said Baoji People's Government Mayor Yang Guangting.

In addition, he added that since 2017, Penza enterprise LLC "Stankomashstroy" has already conducted joint activities with the Chinese machine tool company "Baoji."

At the end of the videoconference, the heads of Penza and Baoji signed a memorandum on the development of twinning relations. In particular, it is planned to establish ties between the industrial enterprises of the two cities, the participation of artists in festivals and competitions, and the organization of exhibitions and tourist trips.
