On July 17-22, the annual Moscow urban forum “Megapolis of the Future. New space for life” took place. Among the main themes of MUF-2018 were the results of large-scale urban transformations, the development of the economy and infrastructure. The prospects of Moscow and other major cities of the world were discussed by leading world experts, entrepreneurs, architects and economists.

The Moscow Urban Forum is held annually in the Russia capital city since 2011. This is one of the world's leading venues for the exchange of views and experiences in the field of modern urban planning. In 2018, MUF took place in the park “Zaryadye” for the first time. The MUF participants were invited to watch films about the world's megacities, attend photo exhibitions, concerts, excursions and so on.

According to Sergei Sobianin, Mayor of Moscow, the city exists not for factories and machines, not for an abstract economy, but for a real people with their talents and abilities, which are the main resource of megacities. “A city is a dynamic mechanism that develops every minute. And it is very important to changes occur simultaneously in all the spheres of life, so that their dynamics do not decrease”, - Sergei Sobianin said.

Alexei Shaposhnikov, Chairman of the Moscow City Duma: “The Moscow Urban Forum annually gathers leading experts in urban planning. MUF has become one of the largest international platforms for exchanging experience and practices, developing effective solutions for urban development.”
