Chairman of Dushanbe Rustami Emomali received the Member of the State Council and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi.

During the meeting, as part of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China within the framework of regional and international organizations was discussed as a priority of the foreign policy of the Republic of Tajikistan, The efforts of the heads of the states in the sustainable development of cooperation between the two countries were recognized as unprecedented.

In this context, special attention was paid to the expansion of inter-parliamentary relations.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the high level of cooperation of the countries within the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other international and regional organizations, as well as with the expansion of collaboration in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian sectors. They discussed ways of further developing and enhancing links in trade, industry, energy, agriculture, transport, tourism, education, attraction of cutting-edge investments and technologies of China into the economy of Tajikistan.

Also, during the conversation, topical issues of infrastructure development and improvement of the country’s capital, the city of Dushanbe, were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, Parties exchanged views on the complex political and military situation in neighbouring Afghanistan and mutually beneficial cooperation in the security sphere.
