Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is Developing Cooperation with the USA

Sergei Nadsadin, Mayor of the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, met with Michael Keays, U.S. Consul General, and discussed the areas of prospective cooperation.

Michael Keays brought an official letter from the mayor of the city of Anchorage, Alaska, in the framework of considering the possibility of establishing the twin-cities relations between Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Anchorage.

“Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk has the twin-cities relations with a number of cities in Japan, Korea and China. We are interested in their further strengthening and in expanding the geography of cooperation for the development of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Besides, many Americans live in our city. I am sure that such projects contribute to the improvement of mutual understanding between our countries”, - said Sergei Nadsadin.

Michael Keays visited Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk earlier and noted the development of the city. Sergei Nadsadin told him about the further plans for the improvement of the city.
