See you in Cairo: UCLG-Eurasia General Assembly

We invite our members to participate in the meeting of the General Assembly of UCLG-Eurasia on November 6 in Cairo, Egypt. The agenda includes the adoption of statutory decisions and discussion of local government reform in Eurasia cities. The event is scheduled to be held in the framework of the World Urban Forum from November 4 to 8, 2024.

The World Urban Forum is the largest biennial urbanistic forum bringing together national, regional and local governments, academia, business, community leaders, urban planners and civil society representatives. This year’s Forum will be held under the theme “It All Starts at Home: Local Actions for Sustainable Cities and Communities” and will gather about 18,000 participants. It is an excellent platform for raising visibility of municipalities and establishing business contacts to attract investment.

November 4, Monday

11:00 – 15:00 - World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments. Organizer: UCLG

November 5, Tuesday

13:00 – 14:30 - BRICS+ Urban Climate Agenda Report - Flagship Initiative for a More Sustainable World. Organizer: the Government of Moscow

16:00 – 18:00 - Local and Regional Governments Roundtable. Organizers: UN-Habitat and UCLG

November 8, Friday

9:00 – 10:30 - session “Making Affordable and Adequate Housing a reality for all - Addressing Urban Challenges Together”. Local leaders and experts from Eurasia, Germany and Africa will share experiences and discuss practical solutions to common housing challenges. Organizer: UCLG-Eurasia and GIZ
