The International Forum "Wood in Architecture"

The International Wood Construction Forum and the 5^th Russian review-contest with international participation “Wood in Architecture” will be held in Vologda on July 25-27.

The Forum will open with a solemn ceremony of laying a wooden chapel on the site of the lost Vsegradsky cathedral. The object will be built in a day. The construction process will be broadcast online and on Kremlin square.

The cross-cutting theme of the Forum will be “A Look into Tomorrow”: participants will present solutions and technologies of the future in working with wood. During the business program, experts will discuss the state policy for the development of wooden house building, introduction of innovative technologies in construction and development of low-rise wooden house building. Special attention will be paid to the preservation and adaptation of wooden architecture monuments, solutions for recreational spaces and tourist clusters. Specialists will reveal advantages of wooden housebuilding in the North and in the Arctic and present the best examples of modern wooden architecture.
