March 26-27, 2009 OWHC Board of Directors Meeting was held in the city of Kandy, Sri-Lanka.

The meeting gathered mayors - Board of Directors members - including the Mayor of Kandy - a World Heritage City Mr. Loku Banda and OWHC Secretary General Denis Richard.

The participants of the meeting paid significant attention to the report on the preparation of the coming X OWHC World Congress to be held in Quito, Ecuador. Its primary organizers are the Administration of Quito and Getty Foundation.


Also the question of the organization's financing was brought into focus and the budget 2010 was adopted.


OWHC Regional Coordinator for Euro-Asia Mr. Rassikh Sagitov participated as a representative of the Euro-Asia Region and Kazan City Hall.


There were colorful performances of local artists during the whole event, also the participants got familiar with Sri-Lanka magnificent historical heritage - ancient memorials of Buddhist architecture.




The most impressive memory they got was a tour to Dalala Maligava Temple where a sacred relic - Buddha's tooth - has been stored for many decades.
