February 26, 2008. Mayor of Ulyanovsk city (Russian Federation) SergeyErmakov awarded an honorary diploma of UNO-Habitat and UCLG.

The honorary diploma ?For maintenance of stable development of the city? was given to Mr. Ermakov upon the figures showing development of the city in the year 2007.
    Rasikh Sagitov, the Secretary General of the Euro-Asia Section of UCLG, mentioned in his report that in a few past years Ulyanovsk city became known for its successful social and economical development among the large cities of Volga Federal district and other regions of Russia.
    Ulyanovsk city is a member of UCLG since the year 2004.
