    Preservation, development and correct use of the cultural wealth and property ? tangible and intangible heritage remain urgent and acquire the increasing importance to the cities of the world. Studying of these issues plays the important role in the further successful development of the cities.
      With the purpose of development of the effective strategies and programs in the sphere of preservation and use of the Euro-Asia heritage, Euro-Asia regional secretariat of the Organization of World Heritage Cites and the City of Lijiang (China) under the aegis of UNESCO and with the support of the World Travel Organization organize on the 15-18 October 2006 II International conference of the Euro-Asia World Heritage Cities of ?Successful use of heritage is the pledge of prosperous future of Euro-Asia Cities?.
      1st International Conference of Euro-Asia World Heritage Cities was held in 2004 in the city of Kazan (Russia) that was elected as the seat of the Euro-Asia secretariat of OWHC and received the large public impact. 500 people (mayors of cities and experts in the field of heritage) from 36 countries of the world took part in the Conference. Second conference is called to expand the geography and increase the number of participants.
      Particularly we pay your attention that in the framework of the conference the meeting of mayors of Euro-Asia cities will be held. One of the main questions of the agenda of this meeting will be elections of the city hosting III International Conference of Euro-Asia World Heritage Cities in 2008. Also the Conference will include a poster session (exhibition of the informational materials familiarizing with Euro-Asia Cities).

Main topics of the Conference:
cultural diversity, promotion of cultural tourism, youth and cultural heritage, promotion of the hostels. Detailed program is available here.
