3rd Edition of the Decentralisation and Local Governance Online Course

The Decentralisation and Local Self-Government Committee of United Cities and Local Governments offers the 3rd edition of the online courses on Decentralisation and Local Governance. The courses will be held from September 25th to December 16th 2012. This online training is mainly directed to technical experts and local, regional and central government officials. Its main goals are to improve the level of training and technical ability of technical experts and government workers and, in general, of the public government agencies that fall into the categories studied by the course, to develop a debate on decentralisation and local democratic governance and to strengthen decentralisation and local self-government processes all over the world. The training has two parallel versions: the Decentralisation and Local Governance in Latin America online course, in Spanish, and the Decentralisation and Local Governance general online course, in English. Both courses are distance-learning programme lasting a total of 80 hours and taught through Internet. The online teaching method used by the course allows interaction between the participants and the teaching staff via a virtual platform created especially for that purpose. The course is sponsored by the Barcelona Provincial Council. There are 25 places available for each version course.
