Osh Is Participating in the UN Water Forum

The UN Water Conference 2023 is taking place at the UN Headquarters in New York on March 22-24. UCLG-Eurasia is represented at the Conference by Bekbolot Arzibaev and Almazbek Imindzhanov, deputies of the city of Osh.

Despite the global status of the Conference, the participation of the Osh delegation has become possible thanks to the Local Governments Day, organized by UCLG in partnership with the UN.

According to the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, “the Conference must represent a quantum leap in the capacity of Member States and the international community to recognize and act upon the vital importance of water to the world’s sustainability and as a tool to foster peace and international cooperation”.

Let us remind that the outcome of the 2023 UN Water Conference should be the adoption of the ambitious Water Action Agenda, containing crucial commitments to inhabitants of the planet.
