The Congress of Euro-Asia Local Governments is an international forum that every three years gathers mayors and municipal officials from Eurasian cities as well as head of non-governmental organizations, experts and specialists in order to discuss some issues of local government. The Congress includes the statutory events of the UCLG Euro-Asia: General Assembly and UCLG Euro-Asia Council. At the General Assembly and the Council the main questions of the organization's activity are discussed. The first Congress of Euro-Asia Local Governments was held in Kazan in 2004. The next Congresses took place in Kazan in 2005 and 2006. The IV Congress of Euro-Asia Local Governments is dedicated to the coming 1000-year Anniversary of Yaroslavl City that will be celebrated in 2010. The Congress is organized by the Euro-Asia Regional Section of UCLG in cooperation with the International Assembly of Capitals and Metropolises (IACM), Yaroslavl Municipality and the Union of Russian Central and North-Western Cities. The Congress will include a joint plenary meeting of UCLG euro-Asia and IACM "Metropolis and cultural and historical heritage. Optimization of city management." Also the Days of Moscow will be celebrated in Yaroslavl at the same dates with the Congress. The last day of the Congress - May 30 - is a City Day of Yaroslavl. GREETING MESSAGES |
