Rasikh Sagitov Met with Kazakhstan’s Mayors

This week Rasikh Sagitov, Secretary General of UCLG-Eurasia, spent in the Republic of Kazakhstan with an official visit. He visited the cities of Astana, Semey, Karaganda and Pavlodar. All the official meetings were held in the presence of Denis Valeiev, Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tatarstan to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In Astana, Rasikh Sagitov met with the city leadership. They expressed an intention to continue to actively participate in the UCLG activities. Moreover, Astana is interested in hosting the 7^th UCLG World Congress in 2022.

With the assistance of the Semey Tatar community, Rasikh Sagitov met with Ermak Salimov, City Mayor. The city projects on the SDGs localization and further joint cooperation were discussed during that meeting.

Then, Rasikh Sagitov met with Erlan Koshanov, Head of the Karaganda region, and with Nurlan Aubakirov, Mayor of Karaganda. At the meeting with Nurlan Aubakirov an application for the city to join UCLG-Eurasia was signed.

At the end of the visit to Kazakhstan, Rasikh Sagitov met with Nurzhan Ashimbetov, Mayor of Pavlodar. Rasikh Sagitov invited him to take part in the Eurasia Local Governments Congress, which would take place on October 4-7 in the city of Cheboksary, Russia. In turn, Mayor of Pavlodar expressed the interest of the city to join UCLG-Eurasia and to participate in the activities of the organization.
