Seminar series ?Partnerships for Sustainable Development?is be held in Istanbul, Turkey (June 15 ? 24, 2008) and Venice, Italy (September 29 ? October 7)

The seminars are organized by the initiative of the Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea and are held in cooperation with the Regional Environmental Center  (www.rec.org), Venice International University (http://www.univiu.org), Istanbul Bilgi University and Agroinnova Center(http://www.agroinnova.org).

The seminars with gather government servants and business representatives from the Black Sea region countries: Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, the Russian Federation, Turkey and Ukraine.   

The Programme has been designed based on a multi-stakeholder approach, by bringing government officials and business people together in order to showcase the importance of partnership to achieve the goals of sustainable development.

Special focus will be given to both practical and technical knowledge. It will not only provide general theoretical and practical information on various policies and instruments of sustainable development, it will also enable the participants to benefit from best practices and case studies from the region as well as from the EU member countries.

The seminar series will be offered at two distinct locations and dates in the course of 2008. Seminar Series I will be offered in Istanbul, Turkey on 15-24 June, 2008, while Seminar Series II will be offered in Venice, Italy on 29 September ? 7 October, 2008.

All costs of fees, travel, visas accommodation and meals for the participants will be covered by the project partners. Selected participants from governments and local authorities will be able to participate in the program for free.

Partial or full scholarships will be available to participants from the private sector, based on their performance in seminar modules, their professional backgrounds and the ability of funding.
