The vice-president of the UCLG and the member of the UNACLA Kamil Iskhakov 3 january 2005 negotiated with UN Deputy Secretary General, Executive director of UN-HABITAT Ms. Anna Tibaijuka in UN Headquaters  in capital of Kenya - Nairobi, where he took part in the meeting of UN-HABITAT Governing Council
K.Iskhakov received the agreement about participating of Ms.Tibaijuka in celebrations, devoted to 1000-th anniversary of Kazan june 22-25 2005. it is expected
The Secretariat of Ms.Tibaijuka expects that in Kazan bilateral agreements between UN-HABITAT and CIS will be signed. it is expected that Ms.Tibaijuka will open the Summit of Local Governments, that include The General Assembly of Local Governments, Meeting of OWHC Directors' Council, anniversary meeting of Russian Historical Cities, Association of Capitals and big cities if CIS. UN Deputy Secretary General will also take part in opening of days of European Heritage in Kazan, ceremony of inaugurating of the Mosque Kul Sharif and visit Sabantuy - national festival. there's also an agreement, that kazan experts will study the experience of international banks in giving credits on municipal development.
