We are pleased to invite you to take part in a global event – the UCLG World Congress to be held from June 22 to 26 in the picturesque city of Tangier, Morocco. This unique meeting point for governments, public and business representatives from all over the world will enable to exchange practices, establish international contacts and cooperation with colleagues from different countries.
The extensive program of events includes plenary sessions, thematic sessions, and round tables on topical issues of territorial development and improving the quality of life of the population. The speakers will be world local government leaders, as well as outstanding scientists and experts who are ready to share their unique experiences and inspiration.
The sessions will cover the topics of climate, culture, decent housing, nutrition, and local financing. Based on discussions that will take place both on the eve and at the congress itself, the Local Social Covenant will be formed. It aims to eradicate global problems of poverty, hunger, and disasters by implementing measures at the local level. It is planned that it will become a kind of roadmap for local regional governments for the next few years.
The key event of the Congress will be the UCLG General Assembly that will bring together all members of the organization to determine the areas of activity for the next three years and elect a representative body, the World Council. In addition, elections of the presidency, treasurer and special envoys of UCLG will be held during the Congress.
UCLG-Eurasia is forming a delegation of representatives of local governments of Eurasia.
