Meeting of the World Council UCLG was held on 29 October-1 November in the city of Marrakech, Morocco. President of UCLG, Mayor of Paris Betrand Delano?, vice-presidentsof organization, members of the World Council from all over the worldand other interested persons, in all about 380 people, took part inthis meeting. Members of the World Council UCLGtook part in the meeting from the Euro-Asia section UCLG: SecretaryGeneral of Euro-Asia section Rassikh Sagitov, Vice-president of theCongress of municipalities of the Russian Federation Yakov Silin, Headof the city of Budennovsk Nikolay Liashenko, Head of municipality ofKarabudakhkentsky region Kapur Isayev, Head of Mytishinsky region(Moscow) Alexander Murashov, President of the Russian Union of LocalGovernments Anatoliy Saltykov, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Tsogt Batbayar atthe head of Mongolian delegation, and also representatives of Euro-Asiaregion, which are not members of the World Council.

    Members of the World Council UCLG took part in the meeting from the Euro-Asia section UCLG: Secretary General of Euro-Asia section Rassikh Sagitov, Vice-president of the Congress of municipalities of the Russian Federation Yakov Silin, Head of the city of Budennovsk Nikolay Liashenko, Head of municipality of Karabudakhkentsky region Kapur Isayev, Head of Mytishinsky region (Moscow) Alexander Murashov, President of the Russian Union of Local Governments Anatoliy Saltykov, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Tsogt Batbayar at the head of Mongolian delegation, and also representatives of Euro-Asia region, which are not members of the World Council.
    Representatives of the Euro-Asia section made presentations at the working sessions of the World Council, Executive Bureau and meeting of the Secretaries General of UCLG. They informed participants of activity of UCLG-Euro-Asia for the last two and a half years, conducted in October in the city of Kazan, headquarters of the section, World Habitat day and General Assembly of Euro-Asia section, where new President of UCLG-Euro-Asia Ilsur Metshin was elected.       Moreover, Secretary General of the section Rassikh Sagitov took part in the discussions on the World report on democratization and local self-government, which is preparing now in the framework of realization of UCLG project ?GOLD?. He noted that report on Eurasia is worked out slightly, there are many inaccuracies, and the state of the local governments of the whole country of our region ? Mongolia ? are not included into the report. Secretary General of UCLG-Euro-Asia also took part in the discussions at the meetings of the Committees on city diplomacy and gender equality.
    The important result of the World Council in Morocco for Euro-Asia section was official election of its President, mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin as the vice-president of the World organization of United Cities and Local Governments and inclusion of him in to UN Advisory committee on local self-government.
