More Than 4 Million Tourists Visited Kazan in 2023

Kazan has set a new record for tourist and excursion flow: about 4 million people visited the city in 2023 (11% more than in 2022). According to SberAnalytics, more than 70% of those who visited the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan are tourists from other regions of Russia. 70% of visitors stay in the city for several days, and 30% come for a day: for the purpose of sightseeing.

“Major international events help us to improve. After each such event, we hone our skills. And this year’s the Games of the Future, the BRICS Games and the BRICS Summit itself, I am sure, will allow us to increase the recognizability of the capital of Tatarstan [...],” said Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan.

The main points of attraction for tourists remain the Kazan Kremlin, the Bauman Street, the Old Tatar Quarter (“Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda”), the Kremlin Embankment, the water park “Kazan Riviera” and the city’s museums.
