The Czech and South Korean Delegations Congratulated Yekaterinburg on its Anniversary

Last Saturday, August 18, 2018, the Yekaterinburg citizens celebrated the City Day. Two foreign delegations from the twin-cities came to congratulate the Ural capital on its 295th anniversary.

On August 17, Yekaterinburg was visited by a delegation from the city of Plzeň (Czech Republic), headed by Pavel Kortas, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs. Almost 50 years ago friendly relations were established between two cities, and since then the cities have maintained the partnerships in the various fields of activity.

Representatives of the Czech Republic noted that from the investment point of view Yekaterinburg is one of the most attractive cities in Russia, and it would be interesting for them to establish business ties and participate in the various projects on the territory of the Ural capital.

The same day Alexander Iakob, Head of the City Administration, held a meeting with the delegation of the South Korean city of Seongnam, led by Lee Jae Chul, Deputy Mayor.

Participants of the meeting noted that over the past years Yekaterinburg and Seongnam had established strong economic and cultural ties, and that it is necessary to develop cooperation in the other fields of activity. The friendly relations between Yekaterinburg and Seongnam were established on September 20, 2012.

Lee Jae Chul, Deputy Mayor of Seongnam: “Yekaterinburg is a very beautiful, historic city. Our visit has two goals: firstly, we want to congratulate the city on a big holiday - the 295th anniversary. Secondly, we plan to discuss issues of economic cooperation, interaction of companies from Seongnam and Yekaterinburg. We want to further develop partnership between our cities.”
