Yekaterinburg and Bishkek Became Twin Cities

UCLG member cities Yekaterinburg and Bishkek signed an agreement to establish twinning relations.

The agreement on the establishment of twinning between the two cities was signed on December 8 on the Bishkek Investment Summit's sidelines by Alexei Orlov, Yekaterinburg Head, and Emilbek Abdykadyrov, Bishkek city Mayor. The agreement on inter-municipal cooperation was reached in order to strengthen a constructive dialogue between the Russian and Kyrgyz peoples as well as to develop partnership and expand mutually beneficial contacts, as it was reported by the press service of the Ural capital administration.

“Our cities have long-standing bilateral relations. Yekaterinburg and Bishkek manage to maintain regular contacts. We are interested in strengthening inter-municipal cooperation, establishing new business contacts and we are always open to dialogue”, said Alexei Orlov.
