Electric Cars Are Parking for Free!

By the end of 2022, 255 electric cars were registered in Kazan, and this is twice as many as in 2021. More than 70 electric charging stations are available for them, 45 of which were installed last year. Electric car owners have been allowed to use municipal parking lots for free in order to popularize this type of transport.

"45 new charging stations are just the beginning. We need to work in advance in this issue as well: to develop infrastructure, allocate land for it and expand the offer," Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, said.

It should also be noted that the usage of public electric transport has increased. In 2022, passenger traffic in the Kazan metro increased by 10%, and the usage of trams rose by 17%.
