UCLG-Eurasia’s Members in the Russia Smart Cities Ranking

The plenary session of the 4th International Forum on the development and digital transformation of cities “Smart City - Smart Country” summarized the results of the calculation of the Urban Economy Digitalization Index “The Cities’ IQ” by the end of 2022.

The Digitalization Index “Cities’ IQ” is calculated for more than 200 cities that participate in the departmental project of the Ministry of Construction of Russia “Smart City”.

The representatives of UCLG-Eurasia – Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Ufa, Krasnoyarsk – took the leading positions in the “Largest Cities” category; Smolensk succeeded in the "Large Cities" category; Ussuriysk was between the leaders in the “Big Cities” nomination; and Elabuga achieved good results in the “Administrative Centers” category according to the results of 2022.

Note: the Smart City project has been implemented by the Russian Ministry of Construction since 2018 as part of the national project “Housing and Urban Environment” and the national program “Digital Economy”. The project is aimed at improving the competitiveness of Russian cities, forming an effective urban management system and creating safe and comfortable living conditions for citizens.
