Street art artists from different countries will paint the facades of Kazan buildings

On August 14, the international festival of street art "Cultural Code"started in Kazan. Street art artists from different countries have arrived in the capital of Tatarstan-they paint the facades of buildings along Absalyamov and Chetayev streets. The presentation of the finished murals will take place on August 30, on the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan and the City of Kazan. The artists work for a little more than two weeks and will create seven works during this time.

Recall that the "Cultural Code" is an international festival in which Russian and foreign artists, recognized by the world street art community, paint huge paintings on the facades of buildings in different regions of Russia. The main goal of the festival is to create open-air museums of monumental art in the regions, as well as to acquaint residents of the country with different areas of contemporary art and world street culture.
In total, by the end of the year, about 50 murals will be created in different cities as part of the festival.

The Mayor of Kazan expresses the willingness to bid for the 2036 Olympics

Kazan has a huge experience in holding major sporting events and is ready to bid for the main sporting event in the world – the 2036 Olympics. This was stated by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at the Business Monday at the Executive Committee of the city.

The fact that Russia is preparing a bid for the 2036 Summer Olympics was announced last week by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a meeting with the Tokyo Olympic medalist, the Mayor of Kazan reminded. Among the cities that can host the Olympic Games, Sergey Lavrov named St. Petersburg and Kazan.

Today, the sports infrastructure in the capital of Tatarstan, as well as the hospitality facilities are ready to host a sports event of the highest level, I. Metshin believes. “Of course, there are also things that still need to be built, for example, a cycling track. But the main part of the sports infrastructure is ready”, - Ilsur Metshin added.

For Kazan, the opportunity to host the Olympics is another springboard for the further development of the city.

A new transfer tariff has started operating in the city's electric transport


Since August 16, 2021, a new tariff for passengers of ground and underground electric transport – "Transfer MET 45" - has been operating in Kazan. It will save money for citizens who get to their destination with transfers and have to pay twice. Now passengers will pay only 45 rubles when transferring from one type of electric transport to another within 45 minutes.

"We are studying new experience not only on the scale of the Russian state, but also far beyond its borders. It is very important for us to stay in the trend and introduce new products. The transfer tariff is a familiar product for the European transport market, we have been thinking about it for a long time. I hope that Kazan residents will appreciate the new convenience", Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, said at the business Monday in the Executive Committee.
