Krasnodar is the best city to live in

The ratings of cities according to the following criteria "Where is the best place to live in Russia?", "The Best cities of Russia for business" and "The most expensive cities in Russia based on prices on everyday goods and services" by the end of 2011 were published in the November issue of the business magazine "RBC".

The capital of Kuban headed the list in the category "Where is the best place to live in Russia" like last year. Sochi (2nd place) and Ekaterinburg (3rd place) followed Krasnodar in the list.

As for the list of cities with the best conditions for business, Krasnodar was 2nd, left behind by the capital of Ural - Ekaterinburg. Novosibirsk became 3rd, Surgut was 4th, Krasnoyarsk – 5th, and Sochi took 7th place.

The analysts of "RBC" considered six key parameters, which, in their view, provide better understanding of cities` attractiveness for investors: market, city finances, construction market, trade, welfare and safety of residents.

Moreover, the unemployment and crime detection rates were added as well. Krasnodar became 1st in this rating according to welfare of residents.

In the ranking of "The most expensive cities in Russia based on prices on everyday goods and services" Krasnodar improved its performance in comparison with last year and became 10th (was 20th in 2010). The cities of Yakutsk, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok are in the top three of the ranking.

According to the research of specialists of St. Petersburg Institute of Territorial Planning “Urbanika” the capital of Kuban took first place in the ranking of the 100 largest cities in Russia with the best conditions to live.

According to the ranking published as part of the XI All-Russian Forum on "Strategic planning in regions and cities of Russia: the potential for integration" Ufa, Surgut, Tyumen and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk were in the top most liveable cities too.
