April 7 mayoral elections were held in Novosibirsk. Early elections were announced on January 9 after the Mayor Vladimir Gorodetsky, who managed the city for 13 years, went to work as governor of Novosibirsk region. 11 candidates struggled for the post of the mayor of Novosibirsk.
Anatoly Lokot’, the candidate from Communist Party received 43.75% of the vote. His main rival - Vladimir Znatkov from the United Russia Party scored 39.57%.
Anatoly Evgenyevich Lokot’ is the First Secretary of the regional committee of Communist Party, Deputy of State Duma, deputy chairman of the Duma Committee on Property, member of the Communist Party faction of the State Duma, member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, member of the Communist Party.
