Пермский край и Республика Татарстан укрепляют сотрудничество регионов

At the governor's initiative in the Kama region, it is planned to create a center of culture of the Republic, and in 2024 in the village of Barda - to hold All-Russian rural Sabantuy.

A delegation of members of the Government of Perm Krai, headed by Governor Dmitry Makhonin, completed a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan. During the trip, the head of the Kama region and relevant deputies and ministers got acquainted with the area's trade, economic, and investment potential and visited several sites to share experiences and expand business partnerships between the subjects.

The final event was a meeting between Dmitry Makhonin and the President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. During their conversation, the heads of the regions discussed the prospects for developing bilateral relations and the implementation of joint projects to improve the quality of life of the population of the Kama region and the Republic.

As Governor Dmitry Makhonin noted, for the Perm Territory, cooperation with Tatarstan is not only a matter of trade and economic but also social and cultural. "More than 115 thousand Tatars live in the Kama region, and it is the second-largest nation in the area. We are interested in strengthening social and cultural ties. This is why we want to work together with you on the issue of creating a center of Tatarstan Culture in Perm. I think this project will be viral, - said Dmitry Makhonin. - In2024, Barda will host the All-Russian Rural Sabantuy - we have already started preparing for this event. It is also essential to finalize the issues of cultural exchange - to organize tours of theaters, creative groups, and so on.

The head of the Kama region emphasized that the area is interested in further developing industrial cooperation with Tatarstan, cooperation between enterprises, and cooperation in the scientific and educational sphere. The inter-regional commodity turnover is 15 billion rubles a year, characterized by significant volumes and a wide range of mutual supplies. From Perm Krai, the republic receives oil products, potash fertilizers, cement, chemical products, and consumer goods. To the Kama region, Tatarstan supplies trucks, special machinery, buses, tractors, excavators, tires, diesel fuel, medicines, medical equipment, etc.

Dmitry Makhonin emphasized that the economic structure of the two regions is similar, which contributes to the strengthening of cooperation in various sectors. "We are actively preparing to create the first special economic zone in the Perm Territory. Tatarstan's great experience in this matter is significant to us," emphasized the head of the Kama region.

The president of the republic also noted promising areas for joint work. In particular, Tatarstan is interested in increasing the supply of machine-building products to Perm Krai (KAMAZ, Ford Transit, special equipment), expanding exports of agricultural products, and developing the market for petroleum products. Cooperation is facilitated by direct flights between Kazan and Perm, passenger rail service, and the M-7 "Volga" freeway.

"We have many areas for joint work, including in the construction sector. There are mutual interests in shipbuilding. We should also consider cooperation in repairing and maintaining automotive equipment on the "KAMAZ" chassis. In addition, we can be mutually beneficial in the energy and oil and gas sectors," said Rustam Minnikhanov.

The parties paid particular attention to the discussion of joint projects in the field of ecology - in particular, the initiative of the governor of the Kama region on the rehabilitation of the Kama River, which has lost its natural potential due to pollution by domestic and industrial sewage, sunken ships and objects of accumulated damage. Dmitry Makhonin thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for his support of this project and expressed his hope for close cooperation between the regions as part of its implementation.

"Recovering the Kama River is an important task to improve the quality of life, the environment, the economy, and tourism in several country regions. We aim to have the program approved at the federal level and included in the national project "Ecology." An essential part of the problem of river rehabilitation is the "Live Kama" project, in the course of which we plan to restore the shipyard in Perm with the prospect of cooperation, including with the enterprises of Tatarstan, as well as to dredge, restore the ship traffic, equip passenger piers in tourist areas of the Kama region", - said Dmitry Makhonin.

In addition, the parties agreed to work actively in science and education to organize the exchange of experiences to create business support infrastructure, digitalization, the use of electronic sites, the development of a comfortable urban environment, and waste management.
