Happy 333-rd birthday, Kurgan!

Kurgan celebrated a unique date on August 25, 2012 – it has been 333 years since its foundation. The celebrations were held under the motto «From settlement of tsars to the city of future». The opening ceremony was traditionally held on the central square of the city.- The city of Kurgan is both historic and modern. Its uniqueness is created by the residents. Thanks to their efforts, the city has got a distinctive image, as well as the unique atmosphere of warmth, comfort and kindness. Let the city of Kurgan always be a city for people - the city where laughter of children is heard all over the place, where veterans are surrounded by care and attention – said the head of the city of Kurgan Victor Serkov in his congratulatory message.

The Governor of Kurgan region Oleg Bogomolov congratulated the residents of the city as well. There were the Chairman of the Kurgan Regional Duma Vladimir Kazakov, Archbishop of Kurgan and Shadrinsk Konstantin, honorary citizens of the city of Kurgan among the guests of the event

The theatrical show was amazing. The residents of Kurgan and guests were welcomed by the great commander of the XIX century Mikhail Kutuzov, the Cossacks led by their chieftain, Hussars in their dress coats, post and railway workers. Fantastic concert performances were prepared for the city. They involved the total of 333 performing artists

The festivities in Kurgan will last the whole day. There will be more than 30 entertaining, educational and athletic areas working throughout the city. Fireworks will crown the celebrations.
