Moscow Youth Projects and Opportunities for Self-actualization

Проекты «Молодежи Москвы» и возможности самореализации

Development and self-actualization are among the main demands of young Moscow citizens. And the city's task is to help them on this path. Today, schoolchildren, students and graduates of colleges and universities have the opportunity to unlock their potential in creative, career, sports and volunteer activities thanks to the Moscow Youth project office.

The “Moscow Youth” organizes a variety of events and projects. For example, the project “Debattle” was created for those who want to improve their acting and public speaking skills. The project “NaRayone” is for fans of healthy lifestyle and street culture: rap freestyle, dancing, martial arts, workout, and basketball. The project “Steny” forms a community of graffiti artists and attracts them to decorate art spaces. Some of the most popular programs of the Moscow Youth are VRabote, Stand-Up League and CyberMoscow.

The project “VRabote” helps schoolchildren, college and university students and graduates to find their vocation, build a career, acquire new skills and give them an opportunity to radically change their profession. The key events of the project, allowing to find a job, include the exhibition “Career vs Business”, the mastermind “Start in IT”, the music forum “Muse” and the employment program “OF.FER”. During the existence of the online platform “VRabote”, the number of vacancies for students and graduates has increased by 1,7 times, more than 78,000 responses were received. The bank of vacancies is regularly replenished. The project’s partner base is also expanding: it includes about 300 employers.

The project “Stand-Up League” fills the main gap on the way of becoming a comedian and related to the lack of specialized education: it provides basic knowledge. The project has two vectors of work. The first one is tournaments. The main prize is the opportunity to work with experienced comedians, further producing and filming their own shows. The second direction is the comedy creation studio. These are creative trainings: working out a speech technique, scriptwriting and acting. They teach how to structure jokes and use basic comedy techniques. Over several years, the Stand-Up League has turned from a student community into the main youth accelerator of a stand-up comedy in the capital.

The CyberMoscow project teaches young people how to behave competently on the Internet. In addition to lectures and master classes, those interested can take part in IT-competitions, learn about innovative methods of protection on the Internet and communicate with experts. The project’s lectures are not just a dry theory; they use examples and demonstration equipment to show what capabilities attackers have, how they work, how hacking occurs and how to protect against it. Participants learn about social engineering and the psychology of lying, how neural networks work, and how cryptography and forensics (the science of solving crimes related to computer information) are organized.

Let us remind that the project office of the Moscow Youth of the Committee on Public Relations and Youth Policy of the City of Moscow was established in 2020. The team of the Moscow Youth organized over 2,5 thousand events. More than 1,5 million people took part in them.
