In Sukhum, an official ceremony of signining an agreement on the establishment of partnership and cooperation between the capital of Abkhazia and the Russian city of Bryansk took place.
The visit of the delegation from Bryansk and the signing of such an agreement between the two cities were planned for a long time, but because of the pandemic and restrictive measures the visit was delayed. Mayor of Sukhum Beslan Eshba called the signing of the agreement an important and significant event.
“We are pleased to welcome you to the capital of Abkhazia. The establishment of partnerships imposes certain obligations on us. First of all, to maintain friendship and relations, to develop ties in all directions - education, health, culture, sports, economy, of course. We are ready to cooperate. It’s where we have been going for a long time for various reasons, including the pandemic. It is an important and significant event for our republic and for our city. We are sure that this agreement will give a good impetus to the development of our city, we hope, and Bryansk as well. Welcome!” Beslan Eshba welcomed.
Mayor of Bryansk Marina Dbar noted that the delegation members were happy to be in Sukhum and expressed confidence in joint productive work in all key spheres and areas of life.
“It is a great honor for me to be in Abkhazia, the capital of the republic, in Sukhum. We are proud to come here and sign a cooperation agreement. For us, this is very important today, at a time when our country is conducting a special military operation and all people are united in one goal - that there is only victory. Therefore today it is necessary to be friends, to communicate, to be closer to each other, to unite our cities and our peoples”, Mayor of Bryansk said.
Marina Dbar invited the delegation from Sukhum to the celebration of the City Day of Bryansk, which is celebrated on September 17.
Mayor of Sukhum acknowledged that he was impressed with the potential of the city of Bryansk. Beslan Eshba informed that in the near future it is planned to sign the order by the Mayor of Sukhum on the establishment of a working group, which will include heads of departments and municipal institutions of the Administration to develop proposals for cooperation.
“The signed agreement opens up new opportunities for our city, and dare I say - for our country. This agreement will be followed by intensive work from the Abkhaz part. Understanding what potential Bryansk has in terms of industry and production, of course, we would like to see on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia products produced in Bryansk,” said Eshba.
