Tomsk Has Developed a Draft Tourist Code

Tomsk Administration together with the Center for Urban Environment Development has worked on designing the tourist code during the year. Tourist code is city's spaces with interesting places for tourists, which are united by a navigation system, signs, architectural lighting, pedestrian zones, bicycle paths and other elements of tourist infrastructure.

The Tomsk tourist code includes architectural lightning of city buildings, including the wooden architecture monument, a photo zone, address and information signs with QR codes, as well as special stop pavilions for pedestrians along tourist routes. The project includes proposals on city navigation, installation of binoculars at city viewpoints, as well as replacement of manholes on wells and water pumps.

It is worth noting that meetings with professional communities and public activists were held to develop the project and the collected ideas were accumulated into architectural solutions.

The project of the tourist code is sent for participation in federal competition. A grant is expected to be attracted for the development of tourism infrastructure.
