Greening Regulation: How the New Document Will Transform Astana

Currently, the Urban Studies Center and the Astana Municipality are developing a Regulation on greening the capital. The Regulation will serve as a tool for quality greening and paying special attention to the issues in this area from all instances, including representatives of industrial and commercial facilities, residential complexes, shopping and business centers. This document will prescribe rules, requirements, standards and recommendations for greening works.

“Such document will systematize greening plans. There will be a strategic vision for landscaping streets, neighborhoods, inner courtyard spaces. We have studied all best practices, and now we want to implement them”, said Yelnar Bazyken, Head of the Urban Studies Center.

According to him, many developers are rushing to hand over their projects without taking care of landscaping. The Regulation will manage this work on greening. This will affect industrial, as well as large infrastructure facilities: train stations, and airports.
